Ramakrishna Math, Mekhliganj is a branch centre of Ramakrishna Math, Belur Math. It is situated in a remote place near Bangladesh border and is surrounded by small villages with scenic beauty. This Ashrama was started way back in 1957, in a very humble way from a thatched room in a low land by a disciple of Swami Virajanandaji Maharaj, who later took sannyasa from outside of our order. Major activities include Daily Worship, Spiritual practices, Religious preaching, General and technical education with an ethical and spiritual background, Medical services, Famine and distress relief work, Rural upliftment, Work for the labouring masses for their improvement and other Cultural Activities.

Occasional Relief Activity
Owing to their poverty the local population is unable to contribute financially to the cause of the Math, hence the Mekhliganj Math mostly depends on the generous donations of the devotees and well wishers residing outside Mekhliganj. The financial condition of the Math has deteriorated further due to the COVID19 induced economic stress as donations have dried up....
